Black Cursive Performance Horses
Meet The Trainer: Lee Bailey Bradshaw

Trainer and instructor, Lee Bailey Bradshaw, offers over a decade of equine experience in the equine industry. What started as a childhood passion for jumping and barrel racing, quickly became a full-time career in the horse industry, then eventually materialized into Black Cursive Performance Horses in 2011. Bailey now resides and works at her full-service equine facility in Lockhart, Texas, where she offers professional training, full care boarding, beginner through advanced lessons, and consignment services.
Lee Bailey's background in a variety of different disciplines, such as jumping, dressage, cutting, and speed, resulted in the foundation of a well rounded program which focuses on producing a well rounded user-friendly horse. Lee Bailey has ridden in clinics under great instructors such as Worlds Greatest Horseman, Ron Ralls, Paul Humphrey, Connie Combs, and Phil Haugen, lending her a valuable education from some of the best trainers in todays industry.
The colt starting program at Black Cursive Performance Horses really emphasizes a solid foundation, both on the ground and in the saddle. She feels that a soft mouth, complete body control, and a respectful responsiveness to a riders cues starts from the ground up, and should remain a common theme throughout the rest of each horses training.
"A good foundation is the greatest gift you can give a colt. Those first couple months are the most important months in a horses entire training career, and can really make one or break one for the future. "
Beyond colt starting, Lee Bailey offers training, tuning, and finishing, most specifically for horses pursuing a career in barrels, poles, etc. She applies her cumulative experience and education to develop a horse that is both confident and reliable in and outside of the arena.
"My style is very simple. I don't follow any one single clinician or trainers programs. I do what works best for me, my clients, and for each horse as an individual. Regardless of the horse, I expect them all to have a foundation in ground manners, softness under saddle, and a respectful attitude. Outside of that, I want each horse to grow as an individual, and I cater to their styles as they are."
