Kingpin is one in a million, class clown, and game for anything you ask of him. I have raised this gelding since birth and he was one of the easiest I ever broke. Since the day I started this colt, he’s been a rockstar. He broke out awesome, with zero buck, and was riding around like a broke joke within 30 days. At 4 days on the barrel pattern, he was willing go cruise a gorgeous set, and proved to be an absolute natural. He’s been patterned and exhibitioned on barrels, and has clocked 3D-5D on the stakes. He’s been patterned on poles and ran 24-25 with only a couple times on the clock. I’ve introduced him to the straight away pattern and he figured it out quick. He’s been trail ridden, dragged obstacles, and tracked steers (I roped my first steer ever on him!). I’ve ridden and patterned him bridleless, given lessons to intermediate youths on him, and ponied babies off of him. He rides around handy and has a fun little stop and pivot. Kingpin is honestly the most fun little gelding ever, and his personality is hilarious. When left unattended he opens gates, picks up feed pans, unties horses, drags sticks, anything you can think off, this silly boy will entertain himself with it. He is truly a class clown around our barn.
Last year he offered some alley issues during barrel exhibitions, which isn’t typical of him, so we chose to vet him out, which led us to find juvenile OCD in his hocks (moreso the right). We injected and he was back to himself for half the year before he offered alley issues again. He is a true all around, but would do best in a home where running barrels and poles isn’t his main job unless you plan to keep up with his maintenance to keep him comfortable. If you plan to use him for performance, I recomend someone keep him injected every 3-4 months until fused, and kept on Adequan/OCD pellets/Equioxx. I’d prefer him to go to a home where he can shine as the true all around type that he is, doing a little of everything, without being hammered on at jackpots every single weekend. He deserves to be someone’s main mount.
*He has not been paid into Ruby Buckle, due to his OCD’s and is no longer eligible. However he is eligible for Breeders Challenge (no fee).
A good home is most important, as I raised and trained this gelding. In my lesson program, he is one of my favorites. I will be picky where he goes. Ideally, I would love him to go to a home that wants a riding horse, versus a performance horse. I think he would enjoy that the most.
He will continue to be used in my lesson program until sold. Lockhart texas.
$6000. I will consider partial trades for an AQHA or APHA registered 1-3yo only.
